FIVE (5) YEAR PLAN FROM SEPTEMBER 2022 TO SEPTEMBER 2027

PART ONE. The Vision of the Church of ALCPNG

TO EXTEND GODS KONGDON IN PNF AND IN OTHER NATIONS

PART TWO. Missions Statement and the Purpose of the Church

1.         Missions Statement

We as a Church exist to evangelize, then to edify, train, equip, and empower the saints with the Word of God and the Holy Spirit for the purpose of growing God’s Kingdom through preaching, teaching, and church planting in PNG and to the other nations of the earth.

We also will provide and empower people with a holistic approach to bring changes and transformations to human lives and the communities.

2.         The Purpose of the Church

The Association of Local Churches of Papua New Guinea (Inc) initiated ••ALC-PNG exists as a national body within the Universal Body of Christ.

Its primary mission is to fulfil, as quickly as possible, the commission given by Jesus to evangelize all the different ethnolinguistic people groups in PNG and other regions of this world. Also, to provide social development projects to train, provide and empower people.

To accomplish the above vision and mission, the church has visions in the following five (5) areas that it desires to see fulfilled in the length of time that it exists as an organized entity within the Universal Body of Christ.

They are:

A         Evangelism, Church Planting, and Church Growth.

B          Teaching and Training of Workers.

C          Missions.

D         Social Service Development Projects.

E          Financial Supporting Projects.

The ongoing visions define the goals and the strategies to be implemented within the five areas identified above as follows:

            PART THREE.           FIVE (5) TARGETS AREAS OF WORK

A.        EVANGELISM, CHURCH PLANTING, AND CHURCH GROWTH

1.         Goals

Our goal is to plant 120 new local churches and new outreach and preaching points by September 2027. At September 2022 the total number of churches both existing and new work was 550. Now adding 120 new works by 2027 the total number of churches would be 670. That is the goal to achieve. 

2.         Strategies: To achieve these goals, the church plans to do the following.

2.1       Senior pastors and missionaries are to mobilize and provide ongoing practical training programs at local, district, provincial, regional and national levels within the church by organizing camps, seminars and retreats on evangelism, church planting, and church growth starting immediately.

2.2       All local churches will start to mobilize prayer intercessors and warriors immediately to pray for the target places and needs. We will seek and wait upon the presence of the Holy Spirit who is here to empower the church for evangelism, church planting and church growth.      

2.3      National, Regional, Provincial, District and Local church eldership meetings are to prioritize evangelism, church planting and church• growth as their priority agenda for the next 5 years commencing in 2023. 

2.4       Each of the 4 regions and their provinces are to establish 30 new churches meeting the target goals by September 2027.

2.5       Map out new areas and identify the existing local churches nearest to the new areas where new work is being conducted to take responsibility for the new work.

2.6       Meetings, camps, retreats and conventions that are to be conducted by pastors, elders and missionaries are to prioritise evangelism, church planting and church growth.

2.7       Door-to-door outreach to be resumed by churches that have left this form of evangelism.

2.8       Encourage cell group meetings and visitations.

2.9       Regular visitation by senior pastors and elders to strengthen young and potentially growing churches.

2.10     Start annual refresher courses for all senior and young workers focusing on evangelism, church planting and church growth.

2.11     Train and prepare potential pastors to take up posting when a new church is been established and continue the pattern to enhance church planting.

2.12     To be involved in religious instruction in schools, prison ministry, hospital visitations and mercy ministries.

2.13     To develop music ministry as a means to evangelize to target youth and children population.

3          Resources Needed to Achieve this Vision

3.1       Missionaries, Senior pastors, Other Pastors and Evangelists to coordinate and inspire this work.

3.2       All churches to raise and allocate funds for evangelism and church planting.

3.3       Other materials such as gospel tracts, pictures, Christian videos, sound systems presentations etc., to be utilized to carry out activities of evangelism.

B.         TEACHING and TRAINING OF WORKERS

1.         Goals:

Our goal is to train a total of 300 workers •from 2023 to 2027. The training Programs of the workers will be facilitated through the Impact Bible College Christian Service Program, Impact Bible College Pidgin program, IBC Extension Bible School Programs, and Christian Leaders Training Colledge.

During the last five years from 2018 to 2022 we were able to train 370 students.

1.1       To train men and women for the multiple ministries within the churches of Papua New Guinea and for Overseas Missions to fulfil the great commission as stated in. (Mat.28: 18-20; Mk. 16:15-16; Acts. 1:8).

1.2       To meet the present and the future demand of ALC to train pastors, missionaries, and church who are able to take the positions of church pastors, church workers, and to serve as missionaries abroad.

2.         Strategies:

2.1       Impact Bible College in Bulolo will continue to offer the course Certificate in Christian Service also the Pidgin Bible School program. 

2.1       Impact Bible College will offer Diploma and Bachelor programs in the future through CLTC partnership.

2.2       Impact Bible College is also offering Extension Bible School to the Provinces.

2.3       Impact Bible College is also offering Discipleship Courses to the Provinces.

2.4       Missions Training School will be established very soon at Impact Bible College to train our missionaries for cross-cultural ministry.

2.5       Train our future teachers and trainers through Christian Leaders Training College (CLTC).

2.6       Apart from Impact Bible College there would be Other Regional Pidgin Bible Schools for New Guinea Islands, Highlands and Southern regions in the future. Regions need to plan ahead.

3.         Development and Upgrading Process

3.1       English teaching materials will be added and developed to cater for the need of the church.

3.2       Pidgin Bible School teaching material to be developed from the current courses being offered.

3.3       To send more ALC students to study at CLTC to attain Diploma, Bachelor and Masters, degrees within the next 5 to 10 years. They will be our future teachers and trainers.

3.4       Library has to be equipped with relevant text books teaching books and other relevant publications.

C.        MISSIONS (OVERSEAS MISSION)

1          Goals

Our goal is to increase missionary participation in the global harvest to 50 missionaries by 2027. In order to fulfil the Great Commission, ALCPNG through Heralds of Life is to work in partnership with FIDA International, World Missions Commission, Pentecostal Asia Mission, Assemblies of God World Mission, Operation Mobilization and other mission bodies.

2          Current Situation

2.1       From 2018 to 2022 ALC had sent 510ng term missionaries through OMPNG and 5 short term missionaries to Papua Indonesia and 20 to Solomon Islands. This brings the total numbers of missionaries that served in the last 5 years to 30 missionaries.

2.2       ALCPNG has established its Mission Body or Organization in early 2013. It now has executive in place with annual conferences. The name adopted of the mission organization is Heralds of Life. This mission body will be responsible for the future sending of our missionaries.

3          Strategies: Ways and methods to achieve this vision

3.1       Strengthen annual National Mission Conferences, the Executives has to develop the administration of the organization in the future.

3.2       Establish Regional, Provincial and District Mission Conferences appoint coordinators and executives.

3.3       Establish a permanent office and the staff in the future.

3.4       Establish a Missionary Training School that would be incorporated with Impact Bible College in Bulolo.

3.5       Establish contacts and fellowship with other Mission bodies ie: FIDA International, Pentecostal Asia Mission (PAM), World Missions Commission (WMC), Operation Mobilization (0M), AGWM and other mission networks where ALCPNG missionaries can be sent abroad.

3.6       Raise more funds to increase missionary work and sending of more missionaries. This can be done through gifts, donations from churches and individuals and through support projects.

3.7       To draft a mission policy and constitution that will in the future guide the operation and the sending of missionaries abroad.

D.         SOCIAL SERVICE DEVELOPIMENT PROJECTS

1          Goals

The ALCPNG Church is to be involved and participate in providing social development services to the people of Papua Nev Guinea as a holistic approach to bring Christian witness and changes to the lives of the people. This will be accomplished through establishing of Christian schools, community ministries and basic health services etc.

The goal is to establish 20 schools by year 2027.  

2          Strategies

Christian Education

2.1       To establish Christian schools, ie: Christian Intergraded Schools, Accelerated Christian Education and other Christian Curriculum Schools.

2.2       To establish and run elementary, primary and secondary school using Papua New Guinea curriculum.

2.3       The possibility to run FODE program in the future.

3          How to achieve these goals.

3.1       To establish church education board who will Plan and liaise with the education authorities both at district, provincial, and national level so that schools can be established as church agency schools. The board would be comprised of provincial education coordinators.

3.2       How to establish, assist and put management into place in the schools that are in existence and in new schools that would be in the process of being established.

3.3       To plan and how best to facilitate for the training of teachers.

3.4       Appoint provincial, and district education coordinators to co-ordinate the work of the schools in a province.

3.5       Appoint persons who are to head and lead the different school curriculum that are currently run with ALCPNG.

E          FINANCE SUPPORT PROJECTS

1.         GOALS

1.1       The church has to raise more funds through tithes, offerings, special offerings, thanksgiving and fundraisings.

1.2       The chUr.ch at all. levels national, regional, provincial; district and local church  can establish any project to raise funds to support the financial need of the  church.  

1.3       All projects are to run in a transparent way. Proper accounting and bookkeeping has to   and report presented to the members.

1.4       Profits to be used for the need of the church and its ministry activities.

2.         STRATEGIES

That has to be planned by the individual churches at all levels of church work and ministries within ALCPNG.

3.         IMPLEMENTATION

This is left to individual churches at all levels of church work and ministries within ALCPNG how best to implement the projects.
